Navapur : The station of two states.

Indian railways, the third largest railway network in the World with a route length of 68,155 km (42,350 mi) as of March 2019. The Indian Railways has many facts with a route length of 68,155 km. In this post we’re going to talk about the Navapur railway station which falls half in Maharashtra and half in Gujarat.

The Navapur railway Station is located in the Maharashtra-Gujarat State border, half of it located in Gujarat and the other half in Maharashtra. On one side of the Station, Gujarat’s rules are legitimate while on the other half side Maharashtra’s rules are valid. This Station has four tracks with 3 platforms. It comes under the Western Railway Zones. The Navapur Railway station lies in the Udhna-Jalgaon Line.

On One side of Bench Liquor is Legal while on the Other side it is illegal.

The length of the Navapur Railway Station is 800 meters in which 500 meters lies on the Gujarat side, while the remaining 300 metres lies on the Maharashtra side. On the Station the clear border is marked on platforms, benches and tracks. By seeing that border, One can identify, on which state he is and which rules to be followed. Since alcohol is banned in Gujarat but not in Maharashtra.  So one side consumption of liquors is legal while on the other side it is illegal. The same view changes when it comes to Pan Masala and Gutka. It is illegal in Maharashtra while legal in Gujrat. (Gujarat has temporarily banned Pan Masala and Gutka for 1 Year).

The Ticket counter and Police station are located in the Maharashtra side,whereas the Waiting Room and Station master’s office is located in the Gujarat Side. On this Station announcements are made in four different languages that are English, Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati. The Navapur Railway Station is not only one Railway station which lies on the state border, but the Bhawani Mandi is another Station which is located in Rajasthan-Madhya Pradesh Border.
